Adware
Adware is described as software that plays, downloads, or displays advertising automatically on a computer–following installation or when an application is being used. Application programmers often view adware as a way to recover programming costs. In fact, the extra income attainable through the use of adware often motivates programmers to offer applications at lower prices or, sometimes, even for free.
